Kundanahalli Spot Fix
Those who have gone past Kundanahalli Junction will vouch for the filth that abounds the area. Could anything be done to make this supposed pedestrian footpath actually walk-able?
Everyday at least 50,000 people and numerous vehicles traverse this location. It has been two years now since the Whitefield Rising team tried varied approaches to understand the way of things around this dynamic and vibrant locality, a major junction connecting India’s Silicon Valley and many economic zones. Last year the team managed to get the drains covered, bus stop shifted and a shelter built. Our volunteers collated the data on households, commercial establishments, paying guest accommodations, volume of garbage generation, methods of disposal, issues of the general public etc.and the same information was shared among the public representatives, officials, Solid Waste Management teams etc., which was instrumental in the ground level assessment and got the recent enhancements in garbage management equipment, vehicles, people and more. But the garbage was being dumped vehemently at this location, it was a nightmare! WR volunteer Karthikeyan had enough and decided to keep a night watch along with our valiant volunteers to understand the issues.
Team #theuglyIndians #Whitefield Rising have got the area transformed!
