Bins in Shops

See those dumps of garbage around and you wonder why people have made a spot their “Garbage” dump? Talking to the shops who are often the source of a lot of that garbage threw up the following reasons.

Bins discourage littering or street dumping of garbage

1. I dont want “Garbage” in my shop
2. The garbage truck doesnt come, what am I supposed to do? (Sometimes true, but still no excuse)
3. Isnt that where I am supposed to dump?? (People now think this is the official way to dispose their garbage)

One important step in the resolution of that garbage dump is that shopkeepers should keep their own bin and have all the trash they generate be tossed into that.

They are then supposed to “hand-over” this garbage to BBMP trucks that do come everyday.
