Applying for a new subsidized gas connection in Whitefield

1 WHY SHOULD YOU GO THROUGH THIS TROUBLE?

Subsidized gas costs Rs450 per cylinder. Private gas costs Rs1100 – Rs1200 per cylinder.

You do the math on how much you will save per year.

However, please remember that you need to be an Indian Citizen to avail of this benefit. Also, you should not be buying subsidized kerosene under the BPL Card scheme.

2 WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

 Telephone / Electricity or any other utility bill

 Flat allotment / possession letter

 LIC Policy

 Driving license

 Voter ID

 Passport

 Ration Card

3.1 HOW DO YOU GET THERE?

Take the lane next to the Varthur Police station on Varthur Main Road in Varthur village. Go in a couple of kilometers. The gas depot is to your left. Can’t miss it!

4 HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

2 weeks from start to finish. 2-3 trips to Varthur.

First trip to fill out the application form and submit documents. If you do not have a Ration card, you need to fill up a Second trip to pay the amount. The gas company will send a representative home to verify that you have a functioning gas stove. Else you will have to purchase a stove as well.

Third trip to pick up the tube and regulator.
